Biography Cecilia Verheyden


Cecilia Verheyden is a  Belgian director and screenwriter.

She graduated in 2007 with her short movie ‘Ou Quoi’. From then onwards Cecilia directed commercials, short movies, music videos and television shows.

Her documentary ‘Climbing Spielberg’ was selected for the IDFA, Docville and Planete Doc Review and her second short film ‘Bluf’ was selected for various short film festivals.

 

She finished her third short movie ‘Robyn O. (14)’ in 2012. The movie won the ‘Best Movie Award’ at the Brussels Film Festival, ‘Best Foreign Film’ at the Canada Film Festival, ‘Best Actress’ at the Evolution Film Festival in Spain and ‘Best International Shortmovie’ at the Crystal Palace Film Festival in London. In 2012, Cecilia also directed two episodes of ‘Vermist’, a Belgian series produced by Eyeworks and she also directed some episodes of ‘Wat Als?’, a very popular humoristic television show that won an Emmy Award in 2014.

In 2013, she worked on commercials for Carlsberg, Coke Zero, Axa and Watchdogs, she worked on the fifth season of ‘Vermist’ and she directed ten episodes of ‘Vriendinnen’, a new Belgian television series.

In 2014 she finished het TV-series ‘Vriendinnen’ and shot two more episodes of ‘Missing’. IN 2015 she finished her first feature film “Behind the Clouds”
